First off, to the naysayers who bemoan the database. You can create custom foods and recipes using the nutrition labels on food you buy. It's not that difficult. For restaurant foods, a lot of chains post their data online or on on handouts that are available if you ask. The ones that don't usually say that recipes can vary regionally so they won't post.
In addition, even products bought in grocery stores values can change over time.
Dieting isn't an exact science down to the last calorie or carb. These are ballpark figures and if you follow them and exercise you will lose weight.
Lost 40 lbs. and still going

Great tool and motivation app. Along with a good diet and everyday exercise I was able to lose 40. I still have a good 20 to lose but my low type 2 diabetes turned into a medium high normal range blood sugar. So "lose it" is a great tool to keep count and when you see results that is the motivation.
Thank you for a great app. If I would add something is that in "search foods" I would have added autocorrect.
Keep up the great work and once again thanks.
Needs just one more thing...

Add a barcode scanner (see the open source ZBar code) and a user submission database for barcodes not yet in the system. Let the users do the work and this app will kill. Heck, even make the scanner an in-app purchase. A ton of people will buy it (including me), you will make a bunch of money, and the app will be hands down the best. I really hope you add that feature before someone else comes along with a better product and I switch.
By the way, I have lost 20 pounds with this app, and I appreciate the accuracy of how many calories I get to have per day (unlike many other apps I've tried).
